The Business Technology and Operations (BUTO) department  of Vrije Universiteit Brussels (VUB) operates at the intersection of technology and management. Both in terms of research and education, our department mainly works on the following topics: new technologies, innovation and entrepreneurship, data analytics, mobility and logistics, electric and autonomous vehicles, sustainability, manpower planning, and geo-marketing. Impact is key to the group's research and education policy. Our students and researchers each work within their own domain and specialization on a better and more sustainable society.

The Solvay Brussels School of Economics and Management (SBS-EM) was created in 1903 by Ernest Solvay, a well-known humanist and captain of industry. Today, the School is proud to be part of the Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB), which now has among its faculties a high-quality faculty dedicated to Economics and Management. It aims to have a decisive and positive impact on how economic and business challenges are addressed. With a strong emphasis on quantitative methods, SBS-EM produces pioneering research and educate women and men to become true leaders and entrepreneurs in their field.
